She does whatever it takes to get the job done.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Chicago Public Schools until her family relocated to Maywood, Illinois. She became a student at Garfield Elementary School and Proviso East High School. Like her mother, she graduated at the age of 16 from high school. The fall of that year she started college at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with a major in Spanish. On August 8, 2009 Sis. Thomas received her Master's of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling.
Elect Lady Thomas began singing and directing in her church choir at the age of 9. Her mother always encouraged
her to continue developing her gift. She suggested that her daughter participate in the high school choir and insisted that she find the gospel choir in college. Sis.Thomas was approached by an energetic group of young people promoting a student organization called Gospel Unlimited Workshop Choir. She joined the choir. Through this ministry Sis. Thomas became best friends with a young lady that invited her to a New Year's Eve service December 31st, 1981 where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into her life.
God had other blessings for Sis. Thomas when she joined the choir. Who knew that she would be found by a young man who took sudden interest in her, and pursued her until they became man and wife in June, 1986 two weeks after her graduation from UIC. Pastor and Elect Lady later became the proud parents of three beautiful children, David, Jonathan and Cassia.
